Provided Covid-19 restrictions allow us, the Spillane & Co. Wealth Managment Abergele 5k Road Race will take place on Sunday 14th November, starting at 11:30am.

This years race will incorporate the North Wales 5k Road Running Championships.

For 2021 we will be having a race limit of 200 to insure the race is Covid-secure.

On-line entries will open on 1st September 2021.

Final Race Details

Thank you for entering this year’s Abergele 5. It will be the 33^rd running of our 5-mile race and the 1^st running of our 5k race. The 5-mile course is mainly flat with one hill at approximately 2.5 miles, while the 5k course is flat and fast. We hope you enjoy whichever race you are doing.

If you entered in the last week before the race, your number will not be posted out to you and you will need to collect it on race day from the race headquarters.

Start / Finish

5k Start

Time: 10:30

Location: from race headquarters, walk about 800 metres towards Llanddulas (west) along the cycle path

5m Start

Time: 12:00

Location: from race headquarters, walk about 400 metres towards Llanddulas (west) along the cycle path. The start is just past the end of the final car park.

Finish

Both races finish very close to the start point of the 5-mile race.

Parking

There is ample free parking in the car parks on Pensarn Promenade. Please be aware that there are height restriction barriers on the entries to all the car parks and onto the beach itself.

Changing Facilities

There are no changing facilities available at the race start/finish area.

Bag Storage

There are no bag storage facilities at the race start/finish area.

Timing / Results

Both races will be chip timed, with results available immediately after finishing. (Nifty Event Services, http://niftyevs.com)

Presentation

5k: 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female will be given monetary prizes (£25, £20 and £15) as soon as they cross the line. £10 will be posted out to all age group category winners at a later date.

5m: Presentations will take place as soon as possible after the final runner finishes, hopefully at approximately 1:30pm. They will be in the race headquarters café or on the promenade outside the café if the weather permits.

This year’s race, our 32nd, will again incorporate the North Wales Five Mile Road Racing Championships for Welsh Athletics members.

Our Corporate challenge invites entries from teams of Three runners from Businesses of all shapes and sizes. Businesses can enter as many teams as they like so long as each team consists of three runners. They can be all male, all females or mixed. Team and Individual trophies to winning team.

Directions;

Turn off the A55 at junction 24 signposted Abergele. If travelling east take the 3rd exit, or west the 1st exit, off the roundabout. Almost immediately after leaving the roundabout turn right into Faenol Avenue. Continue down Sydenham Avenue and turn left at the T junction onto Maes Canol. At the next T junction turn right onto Dundonald Avenue. At the next roundabout take the first exit signposted Beach. Cross over the bridge and the race car parks and Café will be on your right.

Ample free parking in Pensarn Promenade car parks. Be aware that there are height restriction barriers on the entries to all the car parks and onto the beach itself.

There are no changing facilities available at the race start/finish area.

The start is on the private road leading to Castle Cove Caravan Park at the western end of the Promenade approximately 100 meters west of the end of the Promenade. The finish is on the same road very close to the start.
